Stephanie has over thirty years of experience in the health insurance and pharmacy benefit industries. After graduating Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, with dual majors in Business and Communication Arts, and attending the Northwestern Kellogg’s School of Management and Roosevelt University Paralegal program, Stephanie took a position at The Preferred Plan, a small, local PPO. The Preferred Plan grew to be 13th largest PPO in the US, offering full PPO, EPO and private label programs for medical, workers’ compensation and case management firms.
This five-year tenure proved to be the start of a long career in the health insurance industry. Stephanie took a position as VP of Managed Care Development at Philadelphia American Life (PALICO). Challenged to contain costs not only for their own fully insured business but also for scores of self-funded client, PALICO employed traditional managed care elements but focused on “Provider Sponsored Health Plans” – private label, shared risk, fully managed plans.
Stephanie moved to American National Insurance Company overseeing all managed care activity and the development of highly specialized plans to control health care costs and later went into contracting specifically for organ transplant and oncology services.
Stephanie then moved into the specialty pharmacy arena for three years. As Director of National Accounts for CuraScript, Stephanie worked with clients such as Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford Health Plan, HIP Health Plan to implement specialty pharmacy contracts internally and externally. For the last half of her tenure, she focused on developing the oncology drug replacement program which sets the industry standard today.
As a result of firsthand experience, Stephanie decided to move into pharmacy benefit management and specialty pharmacy consulting at ARMSRx as VP of Account Management.
